Hospice and palliative care bring compassion and support to not only the patient, but also, to family members. It incorporates a multi-disciplinary team approach to medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support. The resident’s needs, desires, comfort, dignity and quality of life are the focus. Hospice care is available at all of the United Methodist Homes' skilled nursing and assisted living residences through a partnership with hospice organizations. Hospice services are usually covered under Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurance plans, HMOs, and other managed care organizations.
